Anne Samat (b. 1973, Malaysia) returns to Singapore eight years after her first major exhibition in the city with the exhibition of her monumental work, It Feels Like Home… The Journey Continues. This piece marks a full-circle moment in her career. Anne Samat’s new work merges traditional Malaysian weaving techniques with everyday materials to create a totemic self portrait, reflecting her journey across continents, transforming ordinary materials into a meditation on memory, migration, and the connections that have shaped her artistic path.

Anne Samat’s recent museum exhibitions include solo shows at MASS MoCA (US), the Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech (US), and the University of Wyoming Art Museum (US, 2023), as well as at CCA Tel Aviv (IL, 2025). She has exhibited internationally at the Yokohama Triennial (JP, 2017); the Cheongju Craft Biennale (SK, 2019); MOCA Taiwan (TW, 2019); the Asia Society Triennial (New York, US, 2020); the Indian Ocean Craft Triennial (AU, 2021); the Kochi-Muziris Biennale (IN, 2022); and the Sydney Biennale (AU, 2024).
