The TVS Initiative for Indian and South Asian Contemporary Art returns to ART SG for a second year, continuing to spotlight the region’s vibrant artistic landscape. Curatorially advised by Studio Public Memory led by writer and curator, Srinivas Aditya Mopidevi, the initiative features ‘South Asia Insights’, a curated exhibition showcasing artists from India, South Asia, and their diasporas.
Next January’s exhibition focuses on the ideas of ‘Endurance’ bringing together intergenerational practices that engage with diverse material and historical journeys from the subcontinent and beyond, emphasising the power of art to hold space and outlive the global uncertainties that affect all of us today. Further details including a keynote panel discussion featuring a leading Indian contemporary artist will be announced soon.
In 2026, TVS Motor presented a specially curated section of Indian contemporary art, offering a focused platform that highlights the diversity, intellectual depth, and global relevance of artistic practices from India, placing a spotlight on contemporary art practices hailing from the South Asian region.
Curatorially advised by Studio Public Memory, led by Srinivas Aditya Mopidevi, this initiative brought South Asia’s rich artistic perspectives and cultural narratives into focus, anchored by ‘South Asia Insights’, a dedicated pavilion showcasing works from prominent galleries.
The galleries are: Aicon, Gajah Gallery, Gallery Art Positive, LATITUDE 28, Nature Morte, Sakshi Gallery, Sundaram Tagore Gallery and Vadehra Art Gallery.
The initiative was further anchored by an artist talk with Jitish Kallat, one of India’s most influential contemporary voices, whose work reflects sustained engagement with time, history, and the idea of progress.
