DIGITAL SPOTLIGHT: Cutting-Edge Technology in Contemporary Art
Amidst the fast-paced evolving world of technology, there are increasingly new ways for artists to express themselves through digital tools, including artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR) and creative coding. New ways for collection and ownership of art have also emerged, with virtual galleries and NFTs making their way into mainstream discussion. TAEX (London) will present a solo booth by Canadian-Korean contemporary artist and philosopher Krista Kim, showcasing The Continuum Project. Krista sought to transform digital screens into spaces for mindfulness rather than distraction.
The Continuum Project is the most recognised series by Krista Kim. It overtook Times Square in 2022, as part of the Times Square Arts commission, turning an advertisement-filled space into a meditation zone. One of the three long Continuum pieces is in the permanent collection of LACMA Museum in Los Angeles.
