Singapore Gallery Month, presented by Art Galleries Association Singapore (AGAS), returns from 15 August to 14 September 2025 with an exciting line-up of exhibitions, public events, and exclusive collectors’ home tours. The Peace and The Fury ’ marks the artist’s international debut, featuring a new series of works on board and two large, significant works on linen. In this body of work, Abraham navigates further into the in-between of brutality and tenderness, chaos and control.

This exhibition brings together paintings, sculptures and photography from a global group of artists who harness art’s transformative power to amplify marginalised voices, particularly women and those from underrepresented cultures. Featuring works by Anila Quayyum Agha, Lalla Essaydi, Golnaz Fathi, Jane Lee, Tayeba Begum Lipi, Lê Hiên Minh, Soe Yu Nwe, Pannaphan Yodmanee and Neha Vedpathak.

Victor’s solo exhibition at Gajah Gallery marks the culmination of nearly three decades of experimentation with lenses. Four monumental sculptures constructed from thousands of Fresnel lenses transform the exhibition space into an expanded cinema that thematically and formally destabilises the politics of representation and norms of visibility.

HOLDING (SPACE) ” at yeo workshop

Marking its twelfth anniversary, Yeo Workshop unveils Holding (Space) – a group exhibition bringing together six artists ranging across painterly and sculptural mediums, each with a unique connection to Yeo Workshop. Some have sustained long-standing representation with the gallery since the beginning, while others are in dialogue for future collaboration – affirming the gallery’s enduring commitment to fostering new conversations in contemporary art.

This year, FOST Gallery’s annual group exhibition is held in conjunction with Singapore’s National Day. A special edition titled ‘Sediments’ is being presented to celebrate the 60th anniversary of her founding, with all artworks made specifically for this exhibition.

This group exhibition spotlights the dynamic and diverse contemporary practices of eight artists from Singapore and Malaysia, featuring works by Hasanul Isyraf Idris, Hu Qiren, Justin Lim, Ruben Pang, Samuel Xun, Siew Guang Hong, Yeoh Choo Kuan, and Zelin Seah. Exploring a range of visual expressions across various media, ‘On View ’ offers a compelling dialogue between two neighbouring art scenes – each shaped by distinct cultural influences yet sharing deep regional affinities.

Material Moves’, a group exhibition featuring four legendary Singapore artists, is held on the occasion of Singapore’s 60th year of independence (SG60). This exhibition celebrates the remarkable contributions of these artists – all of whom are Cultural Medallion recipients – in shaping the country’s art scene throughout their storied careers.

A Few Ordinary Parallel Lines’ marks Zhao’s first solo presentation with Ota Fine Arts and in Singapore. This exhibition will feature 21 pieces from the artist’s A Few Ordinary Parallel Lines series (2022 – 2025) – small, intimate paintings that feature rows of predominantly white, off-white, or pale chromatic grey strips which span across their surfaces horizontally. Upon closer observation, one will realise that each row is made up of many small shards – these are in fact tiny pieces of eggshells.

In celebration of SG60, this significant exhibition features 60 diverse artworks by 60 local contemporary artists and collectives. United through a spirit of artistic togetherness, ‘Sama Sama’ offers a collective reflection on Singapore’s evolving history and cultural journey.

“Singapore-ness” as an art-object is a fluid concept shaped by the nation’s blend of multiculturalism, pragmatism, and a drive for social cohesion. Unlike Western art traditions rooted in ideological movements, Singapore’s aesthetic leans toward heritage, symbolism, and harmonious functionality.

In conjunction with SG60 celebrations, this exhibition is a special showcase featuring around 25 works drawn from the private collection of Singaporean art patron, Stephen Teo. ‘Roots & Resonance’ features a curated selection of works by Singapore artists Lim Tze Peng, Tay Bak Koi, Koeh Sia Yong, Ong Kim Seng, Melissa Meng, Kevin Tan, Tung Yue Nang, and Zhu Hong.

In Lim’s solo show and his first collaboration with the gallery, he explores the tension between self-preservation and collective existence, drawing on narratives of catastrophe. From Géricault’s Raft of the Medusa to flood myths across cultures, his paintings fuse abstraction with figuration to construct contemporary tableaus animated by instinct, conflict, and survival.

This exhibition, curated by Desmond Mah, examines the complex and shifting notions of home, belonging, and identity through The Other Singaporeans. Within the context of SG60 – Singapore’s 60th anniversary of independence – this exhibition rethinks Singaporean identity by featuring artists who are naturalised Singaporeans, former Singaporeans, and foreigners residing in Singapore. Featuring works by Emi Avora, Leo Liu Xuanqi, Milenko Prvački, Desmond Mah, Faris Nakamura, Cynthia Delaney Suwito, Moses Tan, Weixin Quek Chong.

Haridas Contemporary’s reopening exhibition at Tanjong Pagar Distripark features nine emerging and mid-career artists: Esmond Loh, Gerald Tay, Jeremy Sharma, Joey Leung, John Marie Andrada, Lucas Tan, Lyle Buencamino, Melissa Tan and Minstrel Kuik. The group exhibition also presents itself as a preview of the gallery’s programming for 2025/26 with coming solo presentations of selected artists.

(Re)discovering Shui Tit Sing‘ is the first major solo exhibition in nearly four decades dedicated to Shui Tit Sing (1914–1997), a pioneering yet under-recognized figure in 20th-century Asian art. The exhibition launches a long-term research and curatorial initiative to reintroduce Shui’s legacy to contemporary audiences and contextualize his contributions within the broader development of modern art in Southeast Asia.

Andy Yang’s solo exhibition is a compelling body of work explores themes of displacement, cultural memory, and the enduring search for identity through deeply textural, abstract, and figurative compositions inspired by nature and sound.
