The UBS Art Collection is recognised as one of the most important corporate collections in the world. The Collection’s mission is to collect the art of our time: stimulating works that reflect where we are now in our culture and in our society.
Ahead of the inaugural edition of ART SG, Mary Rozell, Global Head of the UBS Art Collection and Magnus Renfrew, Co-Founder of ART SG, discussed several key topics such as the history and evolution of the Corporate Collection as well as collecting direction and strategy.

MARY ROZELL
Mary is the Global Head of the UBS Art Collection. Mary has been an advisor to collectors, artists and estates on strategic and legal issues relating to the acquisition, management and deaccessioning of private art collections. An art lawyer with a master’s degree in modern art from The Courtauld, she was formerly Director of Art Business at Sotheby’s Institute of Art.
She is the author of The Art Collector’s Handbook: The Definitive Guide to Acquiring and Owning Art (Land Humphries, 2020).
MAGNUS RENFREW
Magnus is the co-founder of ART SG. He has twenty years’ experience in the international art world, the last decade of which have been spent in Asia. Previously, Renfrew served as founding fair director for ART HK: Hong Kong International Art Fair (2007-2012) and Art Basel in Hong Kong (2012-2014). In January 2019, he launched new contemporary art fair, Taipei Dangdai, where he serves as co-director alongside Robin Pechkham. Renfrew has been widely recognized for his contribution by art industry media and has been named twice in ArtReview as one of the 100 most influential people in the international art world.
ABOUT UBS X ART SG DISCUSSION SERIES
The series will create thought-provoking panel discussions featuring industry experts, to undertake and re-frame socio-cultural analyses of Singapore and Southeast Asia as leading art and cultural cities. Launching during Singapore Art Week, ART SG aims to present larger panels to welcome collectors and general public in Singapore, complemented by smaller by-invitation sessions in other regional cities.
